BARACK OBAMA'S FIRST HUNDRED DAYS Day 21 - February 9, 2009
Breaking a long estrangement, President and Mrs. Obama had Jesse Jackson over for dinner. But Rev. Jackson was not supplied with a knife. The President's task force on energy conservation recommended that all Americans driving a car to work travel downhill. After only a few days on the job, Chris Matthews resigned as White House news secretary after revealing that he dreamed of punching out Hillary Clinton's lights. He was immediate replaced by Keith Olbermann. President Obama announced a new educational initiative designed to make sure every American student spoke a foreign language. In most cases that would be English. The president said he regretted the fact that a group of tourists from his old Hyde Park neighborhood in Chicago defected while in Moscow. "Those aren't the neighbors I knew," he said.
