BARACK OBAMA'S FIRST HUNDRED DAYS

Day 26 - February 14,  2009

First Lady Michelle Obama rejected criticism that she was trying to be exactly like Jackie Kennedy.  Mrs. Obama spoke with reporters after dedicating a huge sign outside the White House saying OBAMALOT.

President Obama confirmed reports that he was seeking to legally change his middle name, currently Hussein.  The president reportedly wants something that will attract less attention, yet honors his identity.  Informed sources say he has settled on Kool-O.

Mr. Obama apologized for not stopping all the world's wars in his first 25 days, as he'd promised to do during the campaign.  He also conceded that he hadn't lowered the Earth's temperature, except a little bit.

President and Mrs. Obama posed for a picture marking Valentine's Day.  An aide rushed in to inform the president that the day meant something other than the St. Valentine's Day Massacre in Chicago in 1929.

Mr. Obama conceded that he "sweated through" an interview with Larry King at the White House last night. Mr. King asked the president questions like, "How do you like your new shirts?" and "What's the White House chef's favorite dish?"  The chief executive agreed that none of the questions was out of line, but some militant Obama supporters hinted that the food question may have had ethnic overtones.

The President said he wasn't offended by reports of a digital countdown clock in Hillary Clinton's office, ticking off the hours to the end of his administration.  "People have all kinds of calendars," he said.

"What you see is news.  What you know is background.  What you feel is opinion."
