BARACK OBAMA'S FIRST HUNDRED DAYS Day 29 - February 17, 2009
President Obama hotly rejected charges that he was in danger of becoming a middle-of-the road president with bourgeois tastes and a militaristic attitude. He snapped at one reporter, "I don't think Michelle really meant that." Later in the day the White House announced that Michelle Obama had laryngitis, and that it was expected to last four years. President Obama welcomed a delegation of German parliamentarians. He recalled the warm welcome he received in Berlin last July and praised Germany's "historic commitment to ethnic minorities." Several Obama staff members immediately fainted, but are expected to recover. The chief executive rejected Al Gore's request to ban the song, "Baby it's Cold Outside," and to replace the "Star-Spangled Banner" with "It's Too Darned Hot." President Obama said he didn't think the federal government should be making artistic judgments.
