BARACK OBAMA'S FIRST HUNDRED DAYS

Day 44 - March 4,  2009

President Obama said he was flattered that a theologian is writing a new addition to the New Testament called "The Book of Barack."  The president ordered the illustrated version, for the kids.

The president expressed outrage that his new windfall profits tax on oil companies is being passed on to consumers.  "How can they do that?" he asked.  "They're cruel."

The president recommended that poorer Americans keep their thermostats at 55 at night, even in their children's room.  "Shivering is good for kids," he told reporters.  "It's exercise."

The White House said that Mr. Obama would campaign for repeal of the 22nd Amendment, limiting him to two terms.  "Why should I only have two terms?" he asked.  "Did Castro?  Should the president of the United States be lower than Castro?  Think about that."

National Security Adviser John Murtha said he'd concluded that neither Iran nor North Korea was a threat to American security.  "The real threat," he said, "is Texas."  President Obama said he disagreed.  Michelle agreed.

The president said he will consider plans to paint the White House green to celebrate environmentalism.  However, he said that "The Green House" might send the wrong message on global warming.
