BARACK OBAMA'S FIRST HUNDRED DAYS

Day 48 - March 8,  2009

President Obama said he would not call for a federal investigation into his election after revelations that more dead people voted for him in some cities than live ones.  "We don't use a stethoscope to qualify voters in America," the president said.

Michelle Obama has been appointed a crossing guard at her kids' school.  She'll be paid $425,000 a year.  The White House hotly denied any impropriety, saying her background as a lawyer would be helpful in the job.

The president said he is troubled by the continued Russian threats against the Republic of Georgia.  "Georgia has a right to its independence," the president said.  I've been there.  It's a beautiful place.  I love Atlanta."

The president endorsed a campaign launched by the Department of Education that will show children the evil effects of cars, electric lights, and the 20th century.  "We've got to become the country we were," the president said, as he lit candles around the White House.

The president revealed that he's asked former President Bill Clinton to counsel John Edwards about family fidelity.  After the president made the announcement, he broke out laughing and had to leave the platform.

The president said he is enthusiastic about an improvement in relations with Iran.  The U.S., he said, would be willing to open an embassy in Tehran, but preferred doing it once Iran stopped threatening the United States with annihilation.
