APRIL 16, 2009 From The Times of London: Cleopatra and Mark Antony were immortalised as two of history’s greatest lovers, but their final resting place has always been a mystery. Now archaeologists in Egypt are about to start excavating a site that they believe could conceal their tombs. Zahi Hawass, director of Egypt’s Superior Council for Antiquities, said yesterday that there was evidence to suggest that Cleopatra and Mark Antony were buried together in the complex tunnel system underlying the Tabusiris Magna temple, 17 miles from the city of Alexandria. Should be fascinating. Good for 20 hours on the National Geographic Channel.
The new political correctness, from The Times of London: "I'm not a pirate, I'm the saviour of the sea" Watch. The leftists in British universities will start using this.
APRIL 15, 2009 Wedding news from Fox: On Saturday, for the second time since December, a court in the Saudi town of Unaiza upheld the marriage of the Saudi girl to a much older man, on the condition that he does not have sex with her until she reaches puberty, Reuters reported. Organizations like UNICEF were troubled by the ruling, calling it an abuse of the child's rights. Troubled. Right. And that's where the issue will remain. Saudi Arabia once again shows its primitivism, but there are enough people on the Saudi payroll in Washington to sing its praises. More from the kingdom: RIYADH (Reuters) - Saudi police are investigating the origins of a hoax that had hundreds of people believing that old sewing machines may bring fortune because they contained an elusive, and probably mythical, substance known as red mercury. Saudi newspapers on Tuesday published pictures of Saudis proudly posing next to old sewing machines awaiting prospective buyers at traditional markets. Do you get the feeling that the wrong people got the oil?
