SATURDAY, AUGUST 1, 2009 (AP) Police said they caught a bank robbery suspect who was counting the loot as he walked away from a western Pennsylvania heist in which he had handed a teller a polite demand note, complete with a smiley face. Greensburg police said 35-year-old David Morgan robbed the city's First Commonwealth Bank branch Tuesday morning. Police arrested him several blocks away when they saw a man matching the robber's description counting money as he walked along a city street. David's mother probably taught him that you always count your change.
FRIDAY, JULY 31, 2009 CONWAY, Fla., July 30 (UPI) -- Police said a 21-year-old Florida restaurant worker used a meat cleaver to fight off an attempted robber in a gorilla suit. Investigators said the worker, who was not identified, told police he was taking trash out to the dumpster at Jimmy's Japanese Hibachi in Conway at about 11:24 p.m. Monday when the gorilla-suited attacker appeared and punched him in the head, The (Myrtle Beach) Sun reported Thursday. I guess the robber wanted to be as inconspicuous as possible.
