DECEMBER 5, 2009 Reader Frank W. Kelley alerts us to this headline from Fox News: FBI Hunts Los Angeles Bank Robbers in Nixon Masks. We're sure the agents look lovely in their Nixon masks. Actually, this is just a case of bad headline writing. There's only one robber, and he's the one wearing the Nixon mask.
DECEMBER 4, 2009 PANAMA CITY, Fla. (AP) -- A judge in Florida wants footage to be turned over to the court so he can decide on a motion to dismiss a civil suit against ''Girls Gone Wild'' founder Joe Francis. U.S. District Judge Richard Smoak on Wednesday ordered all relevant videos be handed to him so he can make a final ruling on the motion by Francis' lawyers. Smoak said the motion relies on the plaintiff's actions in the videos. Or, maybe the judge just wants to have an entertaining weekend. I'm sure the request is legitimate, but Judge Smoak is opening himself to a few weeks of very bad jokes.
