DECEMBER 12, 2009 DUNNELLON, Fla. (AP) - A 53-year-old was arrested after allegedly hitting a man in the head with a raw steak. According to a Marion County Sheriff's Office report, the man told deputies Elsie Egan repeatedly hit him with the uncooked meat and slapped his face after he refused a piece of sliced bread. The man said he wanted a bread roll. What do you call this? Assault with an uncooked weapon? Reminds me of the Hitchcock story about a woman who beats her husband to death with a frozen leg of lamb. She calls the cops and, when they arrive, serves them the murder weapon, well done.
DECEMBER 11, 2009 From The Politico: Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.), chairman of the powerful Senate Finance Committee, gave a nearly $14,000 pay raise to a female staffer in 2008, at the time he was becoming romantically involved with her, and later that year took her on a taxpayer-funded trip to Southeast Asia and the Middle East, though foreign policy was not her specialty. Small-time player. Not in Tiger's league.
