WEDNESDAY, JUNE 3, 2009 COLCHESTER, England, June 2 (UPI) -- A Range Rover owner dissatisfied with his $83,000 vehicle parked it outside of an English dealership with signs touting its flaws. What does he want for $83,000, a Honda Accord? From the Charlotte News and Observer: CHAPEL HILL -- Elizabeth Edwards plans to open a furniture store called Red Window in downtown Chapel Hill in October. Edwards has leased space in Rosemary Village at 400 W. Rosemary St., according to town records. The store will feature styles and prices patterned after the charity store The Red Door that Edwards' mother managed when she lived in Japan, according to a release Tuesday from the Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Bureau. We wish her well. We hope her sickening husband doesn't come in and buy a bed.
TUESDAY, JUNE 2, 2009 LEBANON, N.H., June 2 (UPI) -- A New Hampshire woman celebrated her 100th birthday with a ride on a Harley Davidson motorcycle -- an activity she has enjoyed since 1927. I hope she got Al Gore's approval. So necessary these days. SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras -- In a new overture to Iran, the Obama administration has authorized U.S. embassies around the world to invite Iranian officials to Independence Day parties they host on or around July 4. A State Department cable sent to all U.S. embassies and consulates Friday said U.S. diplomats could ask their Iranian counterparts to attend the festivities, which generally feature speeches about American values, fireworks, and, of course, hot dogs and hamburgers. I suspect the Iranians are only interested in the fireworks...and how they're made.
