SHALER, Pa., May 6 (UPI) -- A Pennsylvania couple accepted plea bargains that will keep them out of jail for a wedding day brawl at a Holiday Inn.  David Wielechowski of Shaler, Pa., 33, pleaded guilty to simple assault charges and was sentenced to probation and community service while his wife, Christa, 26, pleaded no contest to six summary counts of harassment and was sentenced to 180 days of house arrest, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported Wednesday.

A marriage made in Heaven.

NORFOLK, Va., May 6 (UPI) -- A Virginia woman got her purse and wallet back after a pursuit that involved riding on the hood of the alleged thief's car for a quarter mile.
Jeanette Balazsi had lots of help in the chase from two employees at a Norfolk Food Lion who pursued the alleged purse snatcher across the parking lot to an unknown biker on a Harley who followed the car after Balazsi jumped off the hood, The Virginian-Pilot reported.

Watch.  The thief will sue her for auto damage.

Vital intelligence information:   PARIS (Reuters) - True to their reputation as leisure-loving gourmets, the French spend more time sleeping and eating than anyone else among the world's wealthy nations, according to a study published Monday.  The average French person sleeps almost nine hours every night, more than an hour longer than the average Japanese and Korean, who sleep the least in a survey of 18 members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).  Despite their siesta habit, Spaniards rank only third in the poll after Americans, who sleep more than 8.5 hours.

So the Japanese and Koreans sleep the least.  Also develop a lot of products, export more, have their company names in our homes.  Hmm, think there's a relationship?

MADISON, Wis., May 5 (UPI) -- The University of Wisconsin-Madison campus said dogs are being brought to the school to help ease the stress of students preparing for final exams.  The school said "counseling canines" will be on hand from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday on the Library Mall under the supervision of University Health Services staff, The Capital Times of Madison reported Tuesday.

Great idea, but...how do you train a "counseling canine"?  What does it do?  Does it bark out three times for (c) on the multiple-choice tests?
