PARIS, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- Former French President Jacques Chirac said he was forced to get rid of his dog because it suffered from depression and kept biting its master's bottom.

I hope the biting dog was planting by the CIA as retribution for Chirac's anti-Americanism.

HILLSBORO, Ore., Oct. 2 (UPI) -- A would-be robber handed a bank teller in Oregon a note saying, "Need $300 or I'll kill you," but the teller couldn't read the handwriting, police said.  The teller at a Wells Fargo branch in Hillsboro, Ore., told the woman -- identified as Stephanie Martin -- she couldn't decipher the note. Martin then went to a counter and rewrote the note on a bank slip, police told KPTV, Portland.

There are times when our poor educational system pays off.
