DENVILLE, N.J., June 22 (UPI) -- The principal of a New Jersey high school said eight sets of twins will be among the seniors walking down the aisle at graduation.  William Cleffi, principal of Morris Knolls High School in Denville, N.J., said the number of twins scheduled to walk down the aisle Wednesday is only two sets short of a Guinness World Record, The (Newark, N.J.) Star-Ledger reported Tuesday.  "It's very unusual," Cleffi said. "We've had multiples before, but it's usually been two or three (sets)."

Only one thought crosses our mind:  Double tuition, double tuition, double tuition.

From The New York Times:  One day next month every student at Loyola Law School Los Angeles will awake to a higher grade point average.   But it’s not because they are all working harder.  The school is retroactively inflating its grades, tacking on 0.333 to every grade recorded in the last few years. The goal is to make its students look more attractive in a competitive job market.

Just what we need.  Not only will we have more lawyers, but lawyers with inflated grades.  What a concept!

KNYSNA, South Africa, June 20 (Reuters) - France’s World Cup campaign descended into chaos on Sunday with a row between captain Patrice Evra and a fitness coach, a boycott of a training session and the resignation of a senior team official.   All this came a day after striker Nicolas Anelka was sent home for insulting coach Raymond Domenech at halftime of a 2-0 defeat by Mexico on Thursday in Polokwane that left France on the verge of an embarrassing group stage exit...The furore prompted President Nicolas Sarkozy to step in, asking his sports minister to prolong her stay in South Africa to speak to the captain and coach on Monday.

As they say, the French are different.

MIAMI, June 20 (UPI) -- A legal battle is brewing in Florida over the estate of a woman who left millions in property and money to her pet Chihuahua, observers say.  Conchita the Chihuahua lives in an $8.3 million mansion, has diamond collars and a $3 million trust fund left to her by socialite Gail Posner, who died in March, The Miami Herald reported Sunday.  Posner's son Brett Carr is fighting his mother's will in court, alleging she was manipulated into changing it in 2008, the newspaper said.

Wait.  Who manipulated her?  Do three barks mean, "Leave everything to me"?

JUNE 19,  2010

RUSTENBURG (Reuters) – The United States training session ahead of Saturday's World Cup Group C opener with England was briefly delayed after an elephant blocked the route of the team bus.

And they wonder why soccer never caught on in the United States.

JUNE 18,  2010

DETROIT, June 17 (UPI) -- Almost $350 has been seized from former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick's prison commissary account for restitution to the city, officials say.

Now that is real justice, and creative as well.
