THE LIE – AT 9:14 A.M. ET:  We noted last night a particularly outrageous ad put out by the Obama people, in effect charging that the actions of Mitt Romney resulted in the death of a woman.  It now turns out that, not only was the ad sleazy and low, it was also factually wrong.  Gateway Pundit has the story:

On Tuesday the pro-Barack Obama super PAC Priorities USA unleashed a horrible ad that put blame on presumptive Republican nominee Mitt Romney for the death of a steel worker’s wife.

Joe Soptic, the former steel worker in the ad, blamed Mitt Romney for the death of his wife even though the steel plant he worked at closed after Romney left Bain. Mitt Romney left Bain 1999 to go work on the Winter Olympics. GST Steel went belly up in 2001. Soptic’s wife was diagnosed with cancer in 2006.

Only a crazy liberal would blame Romney for her death.

But there’s more…
CNN spoke to Joe Soptic, and found out that when he lost his GST job, his wife still was working and carried her own health insurance, which she then lost in 2002 or 2003 when an injury forced her to leave the job. She passed away in 2006.

COMMENT:  Will the mainstream media express outrage?  Don't hold your breath.  In weeks past, an Obama operative accused Mitt Romney of being a felon.  The charge was never withdrawn.

It's pretty clear what kind of campaign this will be from the Obama side.  After all, he is a product of the Chicago machine, and this is Chicago politics.

I guess hope 'n' change isn't on the agenda any longer.  Or maybe it just isn't working.
