FOR ADULTS ONLY – AT 10:38 A.M. ET:   Mature adults understand the importance of the Iranian nuclear program.  Political adolescents do not.  Trouble is, political adolescents are pretty heavily represented in our press, in the Democratic Party, and in our $50,000-a-year colleges.

From France comes a very sobering assessment:

PARIS (AP) — France's foreign minister says Iran appears on track to reach the ability to produce a nuclear weapon by the first half of next year.

France is one of six countries that have negotiated with Tehran over its nuclear program, which Iran insists is peaceful.

Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius told Europe-1 radio Sunday that unspecified experts "have established in an absolutely indisputable way" that Iran has compiled a full array of centrifuges that "apparently will allow the ability to go toward possession of the nuclear weapon by the first half of next year, the end of the first half." He did not elaborate.

Western nations fear Iran may turn its uranium enrichment program toward making weapons, a growing concern as Tehran expands the number of machines it uses to enrich uranium.

COMMENT:  Please note how blunt the French are.  Compare please with our own State Department, which is still intrigued by YouTube videos.

And compare with the president, who undoubtedly will discuss this tonight.  Will he pledge once again to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons?  If he does, Romney should ask, "Mr. Obama, what do you mean by 'get'?"  I'd love to hear Obama's answer.

We're talking, if the French are right, about a time frame of less than nine months.  Who would you rather have in the White House when the moment comes?
