THE CLOWN IS BACK – AT 9:16 A.M. ET:  It isn't taking long for the global-warming religionists to make their move.  Hurricane Sandy?  Global warming.  Of course.  Don't you know, or are you a Flat Earther?  From The Washington Times:

While it did not take long it was expected. Former vice president Al Gore put out a statement on his blog on Tuesday and blamed the intensity of Hurricane Sandy on "global warming pollution." :

The images of Sandy’s flooding brought back memories of a similar--albeit smaller scale-- event in Nashville just two years ago. There, unprecedented rainfall caused widespread flooding, wreaking havoc and submerging sections of my hometown. For me, the Nashville flood was a milestone. For many, Hurricane Sandy may prove to be a similar event: a time when the climate crisis—which is often sequestered to the far reaches of our everyday awareness became a reality.

While the storm that drenched Nashville was not a tropical cyclone like Hurricane Sandy, both storms were strengthened by the climate crisis.

Gee, I wonder how Gore knows that.  Wouldn't each weather event have to be studied carefully?  Isn't that what real scientists do?  In fact, Hurricane Sandy wasn't that strong a hurricane.  It was a low-level Category 1.  What made the event huge was the convergence of two storms, something that no scientist I know of attributes to climate change.  The Washington Times goes on:

New York and New England were hit with powerful hurricanes in 1821 and 1938. In 1821, the hurricane was called The Great September Gale. In 1938, the hurricane, aptly named the Long Island Express, slammed New York and New England with winds of up to 120 MPH. The Berkshire Eagle lists other hurricanes and tropical storms dating back to 1635 that have hit the east coast.

Is Mr. Gore saying that these massive hurricanes were caused by some form of man-made global warming...really?  Please.

COMMENT:  As a reader noted, this is the same Al Gore who blamed Obama's poor performance during the first debate on the altitude of Denver.  And we point out that this is the same Al Gore who has made tens of millions in "investments" in the global-warming scare.

The storm surge that hit New York Monday night was, yes, the largest ever recorded in the city.  But the second largest was recorded in the 1821 storm described above.  That was before the industrial revolution, before smokestacks and petroleum-burning vehicles.  How did the surge get up that high in 1821?  Maybe it was global cooling.
