BOUNCE INCREASES – AT 10:33 A.M. ET:  Mitt Romney's bounce has become respectable, in polling just released by Rasmussen

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows Mitt Romney attracting support from 48% of voters nationwide, while President Obama earns 44% of the vote. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and five percent (5%) are undecided.

Just prior to this past week's Republican National Convention, Romney trailed the president by two. Today’s four-point advantage confirms that the GOP hopeful has received the expected convention bounce.

There's some chance the bounce may actually grow a bit, as today's report reflects polling from Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with the first part of the poll taken before Romney's acceptance speech.

Although we caution that this week's Democratic convention may well produce an equivalent bounce for Obama, there's more good news from Rasmussen:

In the 11 swing states, Mitt Romney now attracts 46% of the vote, while President Obama earns 44%. Four percent (4%) prefer some other candidate, and six percent (6%) are undecided. In 2008, Obama won these states by a combined margin of 53% to 46%, virtually identical to his national margin.

Given the expected Dem bounce this week, aided by disgraceful press bias, we will probably be entering the home stretch of this race with the contest about even.  Nothing is in the bag.

The undecideds are key, as they normally break for the challenger.  But in a few states, like Virginia, the presence of a libertarian candidate, or several "conservative" candidates, may well hurt Romney.

We will, this week, be two months away from the election.  The fight will be vicious, and I'm convinced that cultural factors will be critical, and may be critical in all presidential elections that we see ahead.  Sadly, the multicultural crowd that dominates media has succeeded in dividing America into groups.  Obama's base may well be in the low forties simply because of culture, and the Dems sell cultural choices ("the war on women") as their red meat.
