SHORT TAKES ON THE DRIFTING WRECKAGE – AT 9:32 P.M. ET:

RUNNIN' WILD – The chairman of the California Democratic Party has compared Paul Ryan to Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels.  “They lie and they don’t care if people think they lie ... Joseph Goebbels — it’s the big lie, you keep repeating it,” John Burton said.  Nancy Pelosi has refused to condemn the remarks, but Obama spokesman Ben LaBolt has criticized them.

RUNNIN' WILD II – The chairman of the Massachusetts Democratic Party has been forced to apologize for saying that Senator Scott Brown was trying to be "an honorary girl" by folding laundry.  It now turns out that Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren also made a dismissive remark about laundry over the weekend.  It seems that laundry will become a major issue in Massachusetts.  At Urgent Agenda we are in favor of folding laundry, and believe it to be honorable work.

RUNNIN' WILD III – Fox News reports that two former employees of Bain Capital, Mitt Romney's firm, will speak at the Democratic Convention this week.  Identities have not been confirmed, but people being mentioned held senior positions at Bain, and are now active in Democratic Party politics.  I don't think this is a good idea, or is likely to be effective.  It smacks of small-time gossip, disloyalty, and knifing a former employer in the back to seek personal advantage in politics.  Unless these guys resigned in protest from Bain over something the firm did, they will look like two-faced opportunists.
