BULLETIN:  STUNNING JOB GROWTH NUMBERS A BLOW TO OBAMA – AT 8:36 A.M. ET:  In a stunning blow to the Obama administration, coming only hours after Obama's "I am still godlike" speech in Charlotte, the Labor Department has just released monthly jobs figures.  From Bloomberg:

Payrolls rose less than projected in August and the unemployment rate declined as more Americans left the labor force, indicating the U.S. labor market is stagnating.

The economy added 96,000 workers last month following a revised 141,000 rise in July that was smaller than initially estimated, Labor Department figures showed today in Washington. The median estimate of 92 economists surveyed by Bloomberg called for a gain of 130,000. Unemployment unexpectedly fell to 8.1 percent, and hourly earnings were unchanged.

COMMENT:  That is a devastating report.  It takes the addition of 150,000 jobs just to keep up with population growth.  I would assume that Romney will be on the attack this morning.

There will be only two more job-creation reports before the election, one in October, and one just before we vote.  It doesn't look good for the administration.

From the way Obama was speaking last night, you'd think we're in boom times.  We are not.
