SHORT TAKES ON THE DRIFTING WRECKAGE – AT 7:32 A.M. ET:

ANOTHER WORLD – As the video of traditional-values booster, Dr. Ben Carson of Johns Hopkins, goes viral, CNN resident liberal Candy Crowley actually asked a panel today whether its members were "offended" by Carson's remarks.  The question was probably not shocking coming from Crowley, who moderated one of the presidential debates last year and famously intervened to help out President Obama.  Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky of Illinois, often considered the most leftist member of the House, suggested that she was offended, and also charged that Dr. Carson lacks "empathy."  This man, who grew up in an impoverished home, devotes himself to saving the lives of desperately sick children.  Guess he hasn't got any empathy.

GRAHAM TOUGHS UP – Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina is emerging as the hero in the battle to get real information about both Benghazi and the strange career of Chuck Hagel.  Graham, although he has little support, is threatening to hold up the nominations of both Hagel and John Brennan, nominated to be CIA chief, until he gets some questions answered.  But the Dems control the Senate, and seem completely indifferent to the chaos and mediocrity that have overcome our national-security establishment.

PELOSI SPEAKS – Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who was two heartbeats away from the presidency, has uttered the following words:  “We avow the First Amendment. We stand with that and say that people have a right to have a gun to protect themselves. in their homes and their jobs, whatever, and that they — and the workplace and that they, for recreation and hunting and the rest.”  Last time I looked it was the Second Amendment, and even schoolkids know that.
